You're an insane man!! I don't think running 2 Bettys would be considered "night riding"... I'm sure you will have more light than during day light ;-)
I'm running a Betty/Wilma combo and is WAY more than what I need... very nice
Enjoy

I have a second Betty2 in hand myself for a short time and am waiting for the snow to f off.But it just won't go away.I didn't think i could be more impressed than my Betty2/Wilma set up, but it's stupid bright playing around with the two Betty2's in the back yard,,,,,i'm feeling week and just wan't one ride with the two Betty's before the other one goes.
I really don't know why i get that, (just one more hand bad gamblers get) feeling when there is something better and brighter out there.I'm not quick enough to out ride my set up as it is.And at my age,i'm not getting any quicker. It's a sickness!!!

hmm, there is room for a Quad,...

this has been on back-burner, since I've not seen too many riders want
the mega.
my quad starts at 2600 lumen ,
and can push it to 3400.
the thing is everything becomes mega,...
talking about 40W+ , needs new battery, new charger, and cooling.
I mean, the betty has some oomp, but throttles down quick, since it gets hot,
so it does not throw, 1850 lumen after 5-10 minutes,...
do have one custom machined housing lying around, round similar size and weight like the betty, what could push 3200 lumen .
the other one is more , industrial design . these might cost more than a betty,...
cheers, Rob

No, not me. Found it on the Lupine forum months ago.

That's just CRAZY:crazy: Probably has another on the helmet.7000+ lumens. No way to now for sure at what speed it would take to maintain 1850 lumens, air temp etc,but on the downhill reguardless you would be 7000+ for sure.
Lighting up your way with the budget of a top of the line carbon,,,, YaHooo!!!

radipok, no need to worry about disappointing me. Im more then happy with my two. Thanks for posting pics.
I ride National with Rob in the earily mornings and his two Betty's get brighter and whiter the hotter they get , ( They gain as they heat up , they do not loose )
His two Betty"s are really insane and make the ride easy for all who is around him.
I can turn my lights off and and ride just fine when Im in front or in back , it does not matter because the duall betty's are crazy wide and white hot bright !!

Hey BBW,
I see you are running a Betty and a Wilma and is the Betty noticeably brighter than the Wilma? I'm running a Wilma on the bars and a Piko on my helmet, but leaning towards an upgrade, which I would put the Betty on the bars and the Wilma on my helmet. Would like to hear your thoughts and anyone else that has used the Betty and Wilma.
Thanks,
Woody

Hi Woody, i'm also running the Betty2/Wilma combo like BBW. I'ts nice to see i'm not the only one who keeps upgrading even though were already riding with more than enough light lol.Your Wilma/Piko combo already is a kick-a#@ set up.Yes, upgrading to the Betty2 will be a big change over your exsisting set up.The betty2 is brighter than the Wilma but does not have more throw.I went out on a ride with two Betty2's the other day and by the end of the ride, that set up didn't seem brighter than my Betty/Wilma.What i think is happening,is once you get to a certain level of brightness you eyes adjust, just like taking video. Not sure what kind of output improvments the XM-Lamp emitters are going to give Lupine's familly, but they would need to be significant for a wow factor as 2950 lumens is pretty much as much your eyes can handle within 25 yards.

So,i would conclude Woody,,,,,GO FOR IT!!! If you can afford it,the output will be significant. Once there,,you will alway's have the option of upgrading with the next best LED's.Cheers!!!

I went from a Wilma (old-non XPG) with 18-degree lens on the bars and a Tesla on the helmet, to a Betty II on the bars and a Wilma XPG (upgraded) on the helmet.
Like Indebt said; it kicks a$$!!
The beam pattern its awesome and will give you SO MUCH light its even ridiculous:D
To give you an idea, I run the lights mostly at 60% and sometimes at 40% when riding with others to not hurt their feelings;)
Last Saturday we did a ride where we finished at night and I brought the Betty only. When I was by myself ahead of the group I kept been baffled by the way the Betty project the light when you aim it correctly (not towards the ground but parallel!) so much light... I really don't see myself "needing" more light than a Betty/Wilma combo in ANY situation....if I end up upgrading, it will be to get more burning time at lower outputs for some 24h races in the future:thumbsup:
If you can afford it you wont regret it!!! I promise!!!

Hey Indebt & BBW,
Thanks for the input. I will be ordering a Betty this week.

I heard a rumor that Lupine will be coming out with upgrades to the Wilma and Betty that will increase the Wilma to around 1500 Lumens and the Betty to around 2200. I'll have to get that once available.

On longer battery life - I got one of those Open Light System battery's (8.7) for my Wilma and on the first full charge I got about 5 hours on high. It was riding between 25 - 35 outside temperature.

You wont be dissapointed Woody, i would make sure you order the Betty with the 22 degree optic as it has a much more usefull spread of usable light. Also not sure who you ordered your Wilma threw but Bill at Gretna always has stock on hand and you will recieve your betty quickly. Geoman is good as well, but i believe they would have to order from Lupine Germany after you place your order, thus longer wait time. Both great people to deal with.Cheers!!!

****Update****

I just went to my LBS and he placed the order through Gretna for the same cost to me. I like to help out the local guys if it works.
And I did order the 22 degree with the red lens cap as well.
Got caught in a morning snowstorm the other day and my Wilma is the only thing that didn't have ice on it. Funny how that works. I leave in the dark and finish up when it's light out.

Let there be light,

Woody

Looks more like a freezing rain storm Woody:yikes: Looking forward to your review once you ride with the bomb!! Cheers!!!
WOW that is "The Bomb" man. I got it last week and did a few morning rides, but nothing technical and it is bright. Then Saturday night I went out for a 2 1/2 hour singletrack ride (never been on it before) with a buddy and that thing is so damn bright. I ran the Betty on the bars and the Wilma on my helmet and the trial looked like it was in daylight. I love the 22 degree on the Betty. AWESOME setup - Thanks for helping make my decision.

"Rule the Night",
Woody
