This should be obvious, but for some reason I can't fix it...

I have 2 bikes one with a BrandX 150mm dropper, the other a BrandX 120mm (internal). Both work perfectly fine. I swapped the posts over because the M-size bike needed the larger drop.

Anyway, The result is the lever on the bike that now has the 150mm is really stiff to push. The function is fine, but you need to press hard & its annoying. I actually replaced the inner cable completely & set it up from scratch, but it's still the same.

The other bike, now with a 120 dropper, has the opposite problem, the lever is super easy to press. This isn't actually a big deal being extra easy, but what is the solution here?

Before swapping the posts, both bikes had normal lever pressure to operate.

I would have thought it was just cable tension, but it doesnt seem to be, nor is it clamped too tight ... what might I have done wrong?

The remotes, are they the same, or different designs? Brand-x has a new remote design on the new droppers, if you have different remotes, maybe one is has the older design.

I think it must be cable routing as Blatant said. There is excess cabling between the lever & the frame entry, so it curls around & back. This probably creates more friction.
When I pull the dropper post 90% out, & the cable becomes straighter, it seems to be easier. I guess I just need to trim it down.

Not sure why the 120mm does the opposite & becomes super loose.

The stiff one is hardtail, the loose one is FS.
