Shopping for some new tires for my 2018 Ripley LS and have started to consider throwing a 2.8 on up front to compliment the rear 2.6.

Has anyone experimented with this, have thoughts or opinions? My fork looks to have plenty of clearance now with a 2.6 mounted.

Thanks!

I've run 2.8 tires before (on a Mojo 3) and honestly cannot see one advantage over a 2.6, but a few disadvantages such as weight, vagueness, and agility.

Thanks.

I ran 2.8 on my old 27.5 hardtail and loved them, and I know I'm not the only one. So, I'm curious about it as a front tire on a Ripley and hearing specific experiences.

Oh, OK. If you know you love them it couldn't hurt to try it out, assuming it fits your fork. I too have run them on a HT, a SS. Liked 'em on that for added comfort. Won't really change the geo or anything. I've seen a ton of LS's in the wild, but never one with 2.8's.
