I'm setting up a Tomac Type-X as a 1x9 and need some recommendations for a (very) light crank/BB combo. Looks like in general the hollow BB cranks are lighter than cranks+square taper BB's, but they don't allow for chaninline adjustment. Is being able to adjust the chainline important with a 1x9 system? Any recommendations for a crank/BB/chainring 1x9 combo that is quite light?

1x9 chainline is probably more important than it would be with a double or triple. With multiple chainrings there's some built in correction of chainline since each ring is used only with part of the cassette.

But a single chainring, it has to be well lined up with the center of the cassette, because it needs to be used for all nine gears. Adjustment isn't necessary if the BB and crank combination give you good chainline, so read the specs carefully before buying.
