I am currently running a 1x8 and will eventually (mid April B-day time) upgrade to 9 speed.

But right now I need a chain retention device and need to know which ones will work with 8 speed now and also with 9 speed later on when I upgrade.

I like the MRP the best, will an 8 speed chain rub in the highest/lowest gears?

my MRP rubs on the highest and lowest but i think thats normal. until it wears in. Its not too bad or noisy.
