Wierd, the 80mm headshock, and a 100mm lefty have the same axle to crown, plus or minus 2 mm, it should be fine. Did you have a 80mm headshock on there before before?TripleR said:

I have checked the hubs, eccentric, bottom bracket, changed gears and tires. Does the lefrt change the geomerty to cause this? Any help!!!!
the bike was built up but I just rode a new 2005 with the headshock and it was much better. Thought the lefty woud be cool.MendonCycleSmith said:Wierd, the 80mm headshock, and a 100mm lefty have the same axle to crown, plus or minus 2 mm, it should be fine. Something else is going on. Headset bearings ok? Is it dragging when you turn the handlebars? The Lefty will be cool, just have to get to the bottom of this!TripleR said:the bike was built up but I just rode a new 2005 with the headshock and it was much better. Thought the lefty woud be cool.
I have switched a lefty 110mm and an 80mm Headshok back and forth on a scaple and have not noticed it, but I know atleast two other people who say they think the scaple feels slower with the Lefty. This has been tried with a number of Headshoks and Lefty's so bearings, hubs, wheels, etc.. should be out of the equation. In my mind that only leaves gerometry changes.MendonCycleSmith said:Wierd, the 80mm headshock, and a 100mm lefty have the same axle to crown, plus or minus 2 mm, it should be fine. Had a thought, that the trail, and or rake, might be different, checked with Cannondale, they are the same, which brought on a great thought from them, we checked the geometry between Scalpel models, equipped with one or the other, the numbers are identical. Hmmm, the plot thickens=raelx said:I have switched a lefty 110mm and an 80mm Headshok back and forth on a scaple and have not noticed it, but I know atleast two other people who say they think the scaple feels slower with the Lefty. Thank you for your help. I will do a side by side check with the other new 1fg(headshock) that I rode and mine(with the lefty) and get some measurements...I will keep you posted.MendonCycleSmith said:Had a thought, that the trail, and or rake, might be different, checked with Cannondale, they are the same, which brought on a great thought from them, we checked the geometry between Scalpel models, equipped with one or the other, the numbers are identical. Hey there, no, the Headshock system, be it Lefty or Headshock, is it's own headset size and style. It should be readily orderable, if not available right then, from your LBS. Sorry, the day King makes a Lefty headset, I will be the first in line!=mtnbikerx said:I'm wondering if the Fatty headshock installed in a 1FG takes a standard headset? I've had a Manitou on the 1FG and I'm thinking about installing a Fatty. Just a std Chris King?
Scratching head, .... as far as I know, all the 1FG's ever made have had the same, headshock compatible headtube, got a pic?mtnbikerx said:Thanks Mendon, I'm not really a bike dummy (5 Spot, RFX, VPX, 6.6, 1FG) but I know nothing about the C'dale line. My 1FG seems to have a normal ID headtube albeit long on my large frame. Do all the headtubes on the 1FG's have the same ID? Some of the C'dale frames I see pictured have an obviously fatter head tube.
