I am in the market for a older ( 1998) specialized hardrock.I used to have one and sold it because of moving but I want to get the same one cos I am leaving to Africa (don't need a new one to get there...).I believe the frame is steel right? How is steel different to Alloy framewise and ridewise? Which one is more durable and would fit better a regular use in Africa? I would think steel is more solid but need input on this with details if possible.Thanks.
