I'm interested in sourcing some original parts for my first real mountain bike and was wondering if they are available? For example, I long discarded the original handlebars and would really like to get the factory ones back on...same with the seat collar. Is this wishful thinking?

Thanks.

In all honesty don't start this project. It'll be cheaper to buy a new 6000 than to bring your bike to fresh 1990 standards. it wont be worth any money even after restoring it

I interpreted this as restoring it to days of old for sentimental sake.....maybe to hang it on your garage wall to look at. Otherwise, why would you be looking for old heavy original parts right.

Yes, this is just for fun and more for sentimental value as I have a modern FS bike for serious rides.

The 8000 is pretty much original to begin with so my mistake for making the thread title somewhat misleading--I fixed that. The only thing I need is the stock handlebars, seat, and seat collar. Any suggestions? Thanks.
