i finally got hold of some B-T-P carbon pads. they weigh 29g . that's for 4 pads incl. bolts and shims!
with these pads the Vuelta Magnesium V-Brakes weigh just 172g ;)

no comments on durability or brakepower please ! i will install these pads on my roadbike as soon as i have a set of carbon tubular wheels. but i know from other weight-weenies that these pads actually perform quite good on a MTB too.

That's wicked light. It's amazing to me that you can save more than 1/4 on brakes alone over Avid SD Ti's. Mine weigh 310g for the pair. There's not really a whole lot that one can do to significantly bring down the weight of SD Ti's either, is there?

How much do the arms alone of Avid Ultimates weigh, compared to the arms of SD Ti's?

don't know about the Avids but as I have the Vuelta arms on the table in front of me......

34g for the 'non noodle side' (this is with the cable fixing bolt)

36g for the side that the noodle attaches to.

Cheers
