its a carbon fat bike fork that has base 160mm mounts. I want to go to 180....

Thanks for that. I am assuming that this really isn't brand specific, so that same spacer specs for Sram given that the mount points are derived at the frame or the fork?

As mentioned, mostly it's mount type and not brand - except if you're going to 200 (SRAM) or 203 (Shimano) or your brakes are from Hayes (caliper shape doesn't work with Shimano adapters of any size or SRAM 200mm adapters).

It's an expensive way of doing it, a Shimano adapter will do exactly the same thing for a lot less money.
