Is it reasonable to use a 15t cog off of a 9spd cassette with a 32t ring. Will it hold the chain under high torque? Is it too small to hold the chain? Being thinner than a proper SS cog, will it flex too much.

Thanks,
LJ

I do just that, and haven't had any problems yet, but it's only been a few hundred kms so far.

I ran a 15t off a cassette for a while with no issues. I upgraded to a Surly cog bc I needed a 17t.

I ran one for a while, but it eventually spun under load. Switched to Surly/Gusset, no problems since.

Thanks...

... I rode it, raced it and it held no problem. Just a hold over until my proper SS gears 36/17 arrive.
