who even makes hubs this size? am i missing anything? why would someone want this option?

q-factor is measurement related to the width of the cranks and 142x12 doesn't require wider Bottom brackets AFAIK, so q-factor should not be affected.

Some regular 135mm hubs can be adapted to 142 by just replacing the end caps (like the Hope Pro 2 for example)

The 2010 Trek Scratch is running on 142x12 hubs, so I expect Bontrager to make hubs as well and DT Swiss is also a hub manufacturer with 142 conversion kits.

But still don't get the point with 142 and Yeti... Anybody?

it is also an option on the asr carbon

i knew what the q factor was...i just wasn't sure if the wider rear followed all the way through and needed a wider bb as well.

i was wondering about a wider flange hub? if it is a standard 135 hub with typical flange width than i don't see much reason to do it as an option, correct?

i would think the main benefit would be a stronger wheel from wider flanges if that were the case
