I just bought an unused '18 Cannondale with 1x12 Sram Eagle setup. I found I likely over paid a little and at first didn't even like it, but after riding and getting used to it, and it's so light, It's growing on me. However I'm not an overly intense rider especially uphill, I feel the 12 speed is over kill.......my last MTB was a 1x11 and that was perfect.
Is changing from 12 to 11 as easy as swapping comparable cassettes? It's an XG 1295. Can I get the XG 1195 and swap out and be done? I have a feeling it's a bit more entailed. If so, any input would be appreciated. As for working on MTBs, I'm a novice and will have a shop do it. I do realize adjustments are required and a shorter chain?
Anyway, some advice will help a lot...thanx..
Also, if anybody has a low mile 1195 cassette and wants to go with a 1295, I'd consider trading perhaps even up depending on condition.
