Looking at the RaceFace Next 35 for a replacement on my 2021 SJ Comp.
Issue is the rise of the OEM bar is 30mm and the RF offers only 20mm
(RF does offer a 35mm rise with the Enduro version which would be too stiff for XC/trail use)
Also, I already have enough spacers below the bars as is so that's not an option and I'm
not looking to replace the neck although I realize that is an option.

So it the 10mm going to make a huge difference?

To me, yes. It does matter.

Going from a 25 to 35 SixC is great. My 45 Chromag Fubar is wonderful. I don’t run bars under 20 on anything anymore. I like 35 but am currently running 20 rise Next Rs on my go to FS and hard tail. Not thrilled about that.

I always check for availability of a 35mm clamp 35 rise or above bar for my FS because I love higher stack/higher rise bars.

I would NOT be happy going from 30 to 20 in your circumstances.

Frankly, I would have a very difficult time of not being in my comfort zone and 10mm drop would keep me looking to solve that problem.
Of course, that means that the rise, stem loacation etc. have been set to a good fit prior to seeking a bar.

Do you want your hands lower? If so it might be perfect. To test, lower your stem 10mm oN the steerer tube. The placement won’t be identical, but it will be close enough to help you understand the impact of moving the contact point lower.

Agree 10mm will be noticeable. You might get used to it in a couple of rides, or you might start fighting it, as a few people have said above try the stem in some different positions before you buy. There are other brands with comfortable 35mm rise bars, I'm thinking OneUp is worth looking at.

Just to clarify, I'm not after more a XC placement (although I do a lot of XC trails).
I was looking for a CF replacement bar that's not too stiff and aside from the 10mm drop, the RF is perfect (I wanted 780mm or slightly shorter).
The RF Enduro bars is going to be too stiff, especially after cutting it down.

Here's a pic showing current spacers. To me this looks like the spacers are maxed under the bars. Trying to avoid the "Giraffe" look.

Don't worry about the width, making bars more narrow takes just a couple of minutes with a hacksaw. If you really want a CF bar find one with the your current rise and either cut it down yourself or have a shop do it. I would recommend OneUp if you are looking to reduce trail vibration. That with the Rev grips would feel too muted for me, so that might be exactly what you want.

Another vote for the OneUps (at least when compared to the RF Next). Until a few months ago I'd been using the Next R on one of my bikes and the Next SL on the other, but I switched out one of the bikes to the OneUps. They also use a 35mm stem, come in a 35mm rise, and IIRC they are 800mm in length, but can be cut down to 750mm if so desired. While I didn't hate the RF bars, they never really impressed me. The OneUps however, definitely have a more vertically compliant feel. And they're less money than the RF.

I have an RF bar I'm not using, or going to use. I'd be willing to part with it, if you didn't want to pay retail to try it out.

With that said, yea.. I prefer the OneUps to the RF bars.

No reason not to move the spacer under the stem if thats what is needed.
