1 x 9 What Crankset?

701 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  birddog99
I am looking at doing a 1 x 9 for my mountain bike.

I need a smaller than 32T chain ring in the front.

there is an Italian company that makes a 30T on 104 BCD, but I was hoping for a 28T chainring.

are there any cranksets that have a middle ring with a BCD that is smaller to accept a smaller middle ring?

How about a 29t with a 94bcd crank? I think smallest you'll get without using the granny position...
sounds good, what cranks have a 94mm bcd in the middle position?

There's a few that still come in that 94/58 bcd format. Depending on what crank you have you might even be able to change the spider. Check Middleburn or White Industries off the top of my head...

The Extralite is pricey, but at $65 it is cheaper than buying a new crankset and chainring.
