I have a 09 cannondale F7, a few of the teeth on the middle chainring are chewed up, I would like to replace the crankset with something a little more heavy duty. I can not find any info on it.

I am in Germany and going to the LBS is kinda difficult. dealing with the base "bike shop" I just want to make sure that I am not getting screwed.

any help?

Each perfectly ordinary bike shop should be able to order you a new Crank.
Price performance ratio is best with Shimano.
XT or SLX Kurbrlgarnitur are relatively light, sturdy and not too expensive.
If the tooth is constantly strike perhaps a "Bashguard" recommended, can also be ordered in a bike shop or buy a simple yet online and the bike shop install.

If it's just your middle chainring you are tearing up, I would just see if you can upgrade just that. I know an SLX middle ring is only like $25 and that would suit you I reckon but I am not sure about fitment to that FSA crank that comes on your bike.

When you said you can't find any info on it, did you mean your original crank?

Assuming you bought the bike in the U.S., here's your specs:

http://www.cannondale.com/usa/usaen...etails/1594-9FS7-F7-with-CO2-frame-technology

...I have an '09 F4 and when I upgraded my crank I bought an SLX crank and it came with bottom bracket and all worked fine. I only had to decide what length crank arms.

Regarding the bash guard, if it's your middle ring you're tearing up the bash guard won't help

thanks for the link, but what I meant is I could not find out what another aftermarket BB size to look for, or type for that matter, I am pretty much brand new to this so I am trying to learn. But I could not find out what kind of BB I have. internal external english 68/70 BB30, I dont really know what fits what and what can be adapted to what, that is kind of where I was going with my question... I had a bad chain, replaced that and it seems much better now, but I figure if I can go ahead and find a nice heavy duty replacement now then when it comes time I will know what to get. I found the raceface evolve DH 3 chain ring, it says that it fits the BB standard, so would that fit? Thanks for the replys. keep em coming

To the OP:
Ha, ha, ha...Google translator cracks me up! :D
Thought you were German 'cause your profile info has Germany for your location :D
Anyways, after determining what kind of crank set you need just order a replacement online.
Shipping charges should be the same like within the US since you'll have it shipped to a APO/FPO.
There are numerous bike shops in the Ramstein/Heidelberg/Kaiserslautern Area though so don't be afraid to google one and go venturing off base :D
AAFES at MAINZ KASTEL/Wiesbaden sells cannondales and the mechanics there should be able to help you out too.
Takes about 1.5hrs from Ramstein to get there....
