I just got a Knolly Delirium with a 66 ATA on it. Everything with the fork seems to be working fine but I am having some real issues with adjusting the travel. I was told by the previous owner that it had had the wind down issue and it was fixed.

My problem is that the knob to adjust the travel is now nearly impossible to spin. I searched for this problem but couldn't find anything so sorry if I missed a thread with this issue. Was this the fix? Because if it was it makes the travel adjust feature virtually useless for me as it is actually painfully hard to spin the knob. This also makes adjusting the travel a several minute ordeal.

Has anyone had any experience with this same problem or know of a fix? Is this a common problem with wind down fixes or do I have another problem?

If I had to guess, the previous owner has adjusted the ATA wind down tension so tight, it's locked up. Remove the ATA top knob, then use a cassette removal tool to undo the top cap. On the top cap assembly, there are two small holes in the threads, in those holes are two set screws that are preloading springs that have small ball bearings on the end that give the ATA wind down a detent click on every quarter turn.
Back each of the screws out slightly and you should be able to turn your ATA knob again.
