The issue of the 08 7 Point actual geometry has been raised a few times. Iron Horse claims the following: "For 2008, the 7POINT receives a geometry make over with slacker head tube angles, longer top tubes, and shorter chainstay lengths".

Here's one reference to the inaccuacy of the numbers listed by IH on a 15" made by Olga_icannot in the following thread.

http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=422684

Geo is very different than the IH website.
TT (effective) 22.5
Head Angle 67
Seat Angle 71
Chainstay 17.25
Wheelbase 44.5
BB height 15" (way higher than spec)

The listed wheelbase numbers do seem wacked.

HA TT Chain WB BB
07 67.5 23" 17.3" 44.4 14.55
08 66.7 23.5" 17.1" 43.75 13.78

The seat angle is listed as the same so there is no way an 08 with .5" longer tt and slacker HA can have a .75" shorter WB even with the .2" chainstay reduction.

8 months ago DW has acknowledged here that the BB height hasn't changed for 08
"Sounds like a typo in the catalog. 7POINT BB height did not change for 2008, but chainstay length got .25 inch shorter to 17.1 and it makes a HUGE difference in how the bike feels."

As an 06 owner I'd like to know if the head angle really changed on the 08 bikes that have been shipped?

Does anyone know?

I just measured and my 06 has about a 67 degree head angle with a 595mm fork, external 1.5 headset, 2.7 front and 2.5 rear tires. I can't say that my dial angle gauge is the most accurate tool in the world but I've done everything I could to make the bike more slack. The wheelbase measures 44.75" which seems consistent with the stock measurement of 44.4" with the longer fork. The BB height is 15.2"
