Specialized redesigned there rear suspension setup from 2007 to 2008.

So, what are the advantages and disadvantages of the 08-09 design over the 07 design?
Has anyone upgrading from an 07 design to an 08 or 09 design? If so, what differences did you notice?
Also, what is a reasonable price for an 09 frame with the Triad?

'08/'09 slightly stiffer, slightly lighter.
Hi,

I went from on 06 S-works Stumpjumper FSR to an 09 S-works Stumpjumper FSR. The 06 and 07 were very close in design and form. From my limited trail rides so far this year on my new 09, I have the following that I can offer up for you:
09 observations
The new bike is lighter by about a full pound or more
The new bike is longer
The cockpit seems a bit smaller compared to the 06
The suspension with the brain is way more interesting. It responds faster and it firms up faster too. It really does a fine job with the transitions from active to firm.
The bike seems more alive and responsive even though it is slightly longer.
The design looks cleaner and the shock is now protected better by the frame. Even though the frame looks a little wierd online, in person it looks awesome.

I hope this helps but feel free to ask me questions if you like.

The 08 i'm riding feels a bit smaller than the 07 my roommate is riding even though they are both a large. Maybe that's just cause you the minimum seat height is lower on the 08-09. When doing downhill I can't lower the 07 enough to clear and get behind the seat. At the lowest setting it's almost too tall for me on the flats and climbs.

Yea, first thing I did when I bought my 07 is cut the seat post down a little so I could drop it on long downhills. Thanks for the responses. Was offered a good deal on an 09 frame but I think I am going to have to pass and go for an RP23 upgrade to my 07 instead.
