'07 Gary Fisher Tarpon Fork: RST 191 C7, 63mm

My girlfriend's '07 Tarpon's fork slides up and down a little reluctantly when I pump on the fork.

While she just uses it for pavement, I don't like the idea of it "not" functioning correctly.

Is there a detrimental effect to lubricasting the fork so that it can slide up and down easier?

Or is there a manner to adjust the fork (are there seals that need to be replaced? etc...)?

It's nothing major, but I just want it to work flawlessly and don't want it to collapse while she is riding it if there are seals that keep the air pressure that are faulty.

You could drip some triflow on the stanchions... That fork doesn't use an air spring. Probably doesn't have oil dampening...so the wipers are just there to keep dirt out.
