We have built up a 2007 turner 5 spot with 5.5 push rockers. We can't get the front derailleur right. Either it is too high, when chain is on smalll ring. The chain drags on bottom of derailleur cage. Or it is too low and when suspension compresses the derailleur cage is going to hit rear swing arm.

Anyone else ever have this problem?

What derailleur is it? To be honest, I've had issues with just about every FD on this bike except for XT.

The derailleur we used is Shimano Deore XT M771 Down Swing Dual Pull Band Type 34.9mm
Wow! That's the same FD I've used for the past two years.

A thought:.I get chain rub in the bike stand, but not riding because of the normal sag you have when the bike is weighted.

Yea we have tried adjusting the derailleur with the bike loaded. With shock pumped up and rider on it.

Do you have the 5.5 rockers? I think we would probably be ok if we had the normal 5 inch rockers. I guess well just run a 1x9 setup.

I've had both the 5.5 rockers and the Push rockers. No problems. Maybe it's that specific FD, Maybe it's a little out of spec. Good Luck

I'm running Shimano XT FD-M751 1-3/8" Clamp with 20-29-42 chainrings without any rub.

What gear combo is rubbing? Granny and large cog? What's your gear set up for the rear. I know if I go Granny and too small in the rear, things could rub but then again the chain slack becomes kinda un-manageable.

Modifying dual-pull FD for older 5 Spots?

I'm just building up an '06 5 Spot frame that I bought used. I bought a Shimano XT FD-M771 front derailleur for it. I noticed on Turner's website that they have a procedure for modifying dual-pull FD's here:

turnerbikes.com/turner-pdf/tech/turnertech_frdermod.pdf

(sorry, can't post the actual link due to my post count)
Anybody know if this applies to the older 5 Spots like my TNT as well? Thanks!

EDIT: Disregard. Looks like no need to modify the derailleur, it's working fine so far.
