I bought an 06 VL120s frame and am looking for a front fork. I am wondering why the MFG changes from Manitou - Rock Shox (mainly) and why? Or, instead of buying new, should I just keep my 03 SID World Cup? Hoping somone has an opinion about this.

There's a lot of reasons why a manufacturer chooses to switch parts spec from year to year....reliability of the product, availability, price, consumer demand, etc.

If your SID is still in great shape and is 100mm of travel, why not give it a try and invest the money saved in a nice wheelset or something like that? Just a thought...

The SID is only 80mm (3.15), so I need to go bigger. Probably just going to see what your complete bikes carry and go with one of them.

No problem. Buying the bike complete is the best way to go...in the end, you get a much better price unless you just happen to have a garage full of parts ready to hang on to a new frame.
