I have the opportunity to purchase a new '06 Stumpy comp for about $1,400. I'm stuck on whether it's worth the discount when I can get an '07 comp for $2,000. I know the biggest difference between the two is the frame alloy, but are the changes worth paying $600 more for...or should I purchase the '06 and put the rest of the money into upgrades?

just a heads up

the rotors on the '06 Comp are trash (turkey gobbling and very noisy), if you go with it, get the LBS to swap out the wavy rotors for the 07 Juicy 5 Avid rotors.

The 07 stumpjumper has a new three piece linkage that the 06 didnt have. The new linkage was designed to cut down on the servicing problems and also made it better handling. I think it cut down on some side slop on the rear wheel. I would check over in the Specialized forum or post there whether its worth the $600.
