Can any of the '06 owners comment on rear tire clearance? I know on the older models you were hard pressed to get anything over a 2.35" to fit without rubbing.
06 Flys wont be shipped for about another week. The tire clearance should be the same as all the Flys. All 2.35s and SOME 2.5s.

On what year FLY? The 2.5 Maxxis barely fits on a 321 rim.
I own an 05. If you actually put calipers on the Gazzi its only a 2.5, mine is mounted on a Mavic 729 rim. Too bad tire manufacurters don't size their product to an international standard . Instead we're left to discover on our own, for example, that a Gazzi 2.6 really isn't a 2.6 but a 2.5, however, the new Kendas ( Tomac Series only not the Kinectics), is actually the advertised size. Etc, etc. Rediculous!

I run either a Maxxis Minion 2.5 or a Kenda Nevegal 2.35 DH in the rear of my Fly. The Kenda 2.35 is the same size as the Maxxis 2.5!!!!

What other tires have you run in the rear? Have any rubbed.

I tried a Maxxis Minion 2.7 and it rubbed. I tried a Nevegal 2.5 and it had about a mm of clearance; too close for me. I want to try a Michy 24.1 2.5 but Im thinking it will be too close. I have to have a little snow/mud clearance as I dont want to make grooves in the frame.

i have an 05 frame and run 2.7 maxxis highrollers on it, which are plenty thick enough. i cant fit anymore with the floater but im pretty sure theres room to go bigger if you didnt have the floater.
