Got my first ride on a new 05 130R - So far it feels fantastic, it does'nt look much different on the outside (except for decals) - its whats inside that matters, what ever Fox did - they did a good job. It's hard to explain, it just feels much smoother over everything, the 04 felt very good as well, but in one ride i felt a big difference, especially when going over ruts, and smaller stuff, like small edges - everything disappeared. I am waiting for the extra springs that come with it (they did not ship with the fork) Just to see if it would be better with the blue. I was thinking of using an older spring from a 125, but learned that the new 130 springs are 20mm longer. So far so good..oh & another thing the fork is VERY quite.. thats a shocker huh considering they are/were known for the "Clunk" (which my first fox had badly).damping felt on par with a firefly (03-not newer SPV version) which i also rode & loved - just a pound or so lighter

Thats sound nice, did you take some mesurements if it does full travel? My Vanilla 125 RL ´02 seems to make only 122mm of travel. Also what is the axle to crown distance? Also did the tire clearance increased?I´m thinking of purchasing a ´05 Vanilla just to get rid of the clunking and if the A to C is bigger the better!
Many thanks in advance.

Cheers

Will they ship you the springs for free? I need stiffer springs as well in mine, 05 too. My first real ride on it was yesterday. The thing just eats up stuff like small branches, rocks, ect. Can't barely even feel them. It's awesome comming from the bottom of the line Marz MZ Comp that came on my Kikapu. I'm also running it in 130 as opposed to the 100mm of the old fork, so maybe that has something to do with it. Mine though seemed to start creaking after about 30 minutes of riding. Something started creaking and since the fork is the only thing I changed i thought it might be that, I hope it isn't. Then I am off the bike and compress the fork it also seems to make a clicking noise at about half travel sometimes so maybe that's the creak I'm hearing. Hopefully this all goes away after it's fully broken in.

Do they allow 8" rotors w/ this model, or are they only letting you run 6"?

I couldn't find any mention of the 05's on their website, but they did mention a FR model, called the 36. In the product description they said the 36 doesn't have a QR because they think a QR w/ 8" rotors is a bad idea. Given this I figure they'll only allow the 6" rotor on the '05 130R. Any clue?
