Quick question. I have changed the oil a few times on this fork with success. However, this time I do not have any compression adj or lockout. According to Manitou, the oil level should be 4.5" - 4.9". Well does this mean 4.5 - 4.9" from the top of the crown or 4.5 - 4.9" high

The Manitou service manual does not specify. I think it is 4.5 - 4.9" from the top of the crown but not sure. I have not had a chance to contact Manitou to verify - and I want to ride today. I am sure someone out here has the ANSWER...

Thanx

Oil heights on Manitou systems have a small window of play meaning as long as you are close to the middle it is good. Yes it is from a full extension measured from the top thread or top cap down to oil in stanchion tube.Hope this helps.Make sure you cycle fork to relieve any trapped air inside the damper head.
Kinda what I thought. Thanks Drake:thumbsup:
