read a few things stating the 04 Rear Deemax requires a through axle. I thought a normal quick release could be used on the rear....

Anyone verify the real story? Is a conversion kit available (or necessary)?

Thanks.

It comes stock with a 10mm bolt on axle that's actually a 3 peices... Conversion would be strange with the way it's produced...

I've got these wheels on my bike...3 piece solid rear axle. You can put a quick release thru the front but I'm not aware of a conversion for the rear. I'd be interested to know if anyone else finds one...

Also, when going fast downhill and not pedalling the freewheel part gets caught up and make a wierd noise...I've taken them apart so many times and don't see any damage. Anyone have this problem? I want to send it in for warranty but how long is the wait?
