Hey guys I'm new here. I just received a used 03' Foes fly that I bought used off of ebay. It cam with a romic rear shock. The way the frame and show is designed it will not fit in the 8 inch setting on the frame. It's really close if I had like offset bushing it would fit. Do I have to have a curnutt shock in order to utilize the 8 inch setting? I've searched and searched and have found some people on here using an avalanche shock in the 8 inch setting. I've also seen some 03's owners using a fox vanilla but from what I can tell in the pictures they have the shock in the 6.5 or 7 inch setting. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance! I've attached a couple pics of the bike below..

You can use the Romic in both settings but you need a different coller.

Do you have a better pic of the Romic on the bike?

You might call Foes and see if they have a coller for the Romic.

Here are the pics. With some closer inspection i can see the previous owner took a die grinder to the rear shock linkage to clear the lower spring perch. Anyway here are the pics. If I can't get the new collar for the romic what are my options? Thanks again! Kevin.

Yep, you need the different coller. Call Foes or Romic and see if they have one or you need a Avy or Curnutt. Ive ridden all 3 shocks and the Avy rocks but the Romic isnt far behind. I loved my Romic when it wasnt leaking. See if you can find the coller.
