Hey all,

I'm in the market for a DH bike, and I think I found one worth picking up.

There's a guy willing to sell me a 2002 Kona Stab for $800. The frame seems to be in good shape still, and he's got Marz 888 rc up front and some unidentified Avalanche shock in the back. I'm pretty sure the frame size is Medium, but since he's the second owner he's not sure. (looked online and judging by the way the small frames look in relationship to the rear shock, which is pretty much the same size regardless of the frame, I think it's a medium) I've had the chance to ride this bike around a little bit on the road and it seems small, but I'm used to riding an '03 KX 125, so the riding position of all DH bikes seems a little weird to me.

At 6' 190lbs, do you think the medium frame will be too small? Oh, and is 800 too much? The dude was originally asking 1000.

$800 is a little steep IMO. 2002 is pretty darn old for a DH bike, there are better options in the price range. You just have to keep looking and be patient. I wouldn't pay more than $500 for that.

I'll second the $800 seems a bit high.

I was offered a Gary Fisher Kingfisher for 900 a year ago that was a much better deal and several years newer. Another friend I know got a Giant Faith ~05 or 06 in near new condition for $800.

Keep looking IMO.
