anyone know the difference in the 01 SLX vs. the 02+ SLX. I don't think the 01 has the adjustable travel of 6-7 inches but i am not sure. Are there any functional difference worth noting between the years?

I don't know about the adjustable travel for the '01 and '02, but the '03 has it (I'm sure someone else can chime in). Also, the '02 did not have a replaceable rear derailleur hanger and the '03 did. IIRC, the '03 has a one-point-five headset while the '02 has the 1 1/8".

Stop jockin' your homie and get the Santa Cruz. Just kidding.

there's always room for you on team yeti :)
01 Vs 02

The 01's have the stiffer 1 piece link from the M1.. the 02's have the 2 piece link that you can flip around giving the bike the extra inch of travel.. they also did this to give more clearance for a 5th eli vs the RC it was originally designed around....

Hope that helps...
On the '03, the later ones had the replaceable derailleur hanger, the earlier ones did not.
As for the onepointfive head tube, some had it and some did not.
