Easton Heist 29 Wheelset

DESCRIPTION

The new Heist in 24-, 27-, or 30-millimeter internal rim widths, is right on-trend and price point to match tire volume and rider preference. Strength:

Relatively inexpensive, light, improved durability with X5 hubs, replaceable hub end caps for different axle standards. They ship taped with tubeless stems installed.

Weakness:

ARC rims need to be babied.

Had the 24 mm set on a hardtail running appx 30 PSI in the rear. Dented the rear beyond repair 4 miles in on a pretty tame NW rooty/rocky trail that I've ridden dozens of times. I'm a sub 140 lb rider riding XC terrain. These are supposed to be an All Mountain wheelset? Don't bet on it.

That said, the new X5 hubs seem solid. If you're going to buy Easton, only buy their highest end stuff. These rims are pop cans. I was so stoked to get these, but if you're planning on making your getaway on a set of Heist wheels, you're not gonna make it very far.
