Strength:

~Stiff and fast
~Creamy compliance and vibration muting
~Sub-1450g weight
~Good enough for Trail duties... as long as wheels stay planted

Weakness:

~They will crack, at rear spoke bed

After 5 years of heavy Trail use - the rear rim split apart. Luckily, it was when the bike was up on a rack. Easton's ABC is tough as advertised.... but paying nearly $2000 for a wheelset warrants a lifecycle exceeding 10+ years. Mavic wheels are pricey, but they easily go past a decade, as long as the rear freehub and pawls are serviced as prescribed.

BTW - Easton composite rims are about the priciest found ANYWHERE... at $500/installed.

Strength:

Stiff, light, durable and super easy to set up tubeless.

Weakness:

Expensive! Sometimes challenging to remove beaded tire.

I purchased a set of EC90XC wheels for my FSR-Comp 29er October 2013.

These wheels are incredible. So far, I’ve put over 1,160 miles of XC/"aggressive trail" riding on them. The rear required truing once, which a local bike shop handled for about $9.

The Easton gray rim finish is beautiful and the red accents add just enough color for a touch of eye candy!

The bottom line with a wheelset is how well it rides. These wheels are incredibly responsive, which makes avoiding a rock, root, or stick at the last split second effortless!

These wheels will look great on any bike.
