DESCRIPTION

The Schwalbe Nobby Nic TL Ready Snakeskin is an ideal tire for rough conditions -- wet or dry. It uses Schwalbe's Pacestar Triple Compound rubber to optimize the tire's performance wherever possible with regards to grip, durability, and rolling resistance. The knobby tread of the Nobby Nic provides excellent traction in all conditions. Its cornering is outstanding thanks in part to the soft rubber compound and to the U-shaped shoulder blocks. They're angled 20 degrees or so towards the outside of the tire, with siping that doesn't quite divide the block, creating the

Strength:

Tire is lighter than almost anything it's size. Grip is fair. Tubeless inflates quickly. holds air better than average.

Weakness:

Grip needs improvement compared to the competition, sidewall scuffs far too easily. Soft rubber is lightweight, but decreases durability. Quite expensive compared to the competition. difficult to mount.

not reccomended. This tire is specced on many bikes as they are very light, giving a bike a high performance feel and dropping a pound off the bike. Actual performance is below avverage and the sidewall durability is very poor, even for this snakeskin model. Other tires in it's category are far cheaper, have more grip in all conditions, last far longer and are easier to set up on a bike. I suggest lubricating the bead with water or silicone to ensure proper seating. Tire inflates easily from flat using a tubeless setup.

Strength:

No punctures, seals quickly with tubeless brew.

Weakness:

Price, traction, Soft compound.

I run this tire on the front (29 x 2.35), usually this tire breaks traction before the rear which is a Conti Mountain King II 29 x 2.2. I ride in trails with rock gardens, drops, lose terrain, hard packed terrain, mud, almost anything.
It came standard with my bike, I think I will try a different tire next time.
