perceived possible thinness of the rubber on the sides to protect the threads. I will keep an eye here.
Odd grey color for the sidewall will take time to get used to.

My initial impressions of this tire are good. I recently cut a sidewall on my rear and after 700 miles I figured it was time to replace.

I purchased the 29" x 2.25" TNT version and they weigh in at 665g. Made in Thailand, and seem to be of good quality, with no major defects present.

Strength was good and folded out nicely.

Took time to mount them tubeless and also test out Orange Seal. Initial impressions of the products are favorable. Cleanest, easiest tubeless install to date. Beaded up nicely and were not overly tight or difficult on my syncros rims on my scott genius bike.

Rolling resistance is great in my opinion for the tread design.

Very good traction,,,,i changed from 2.35 Ikons and found the 2.25 Barzo to cut into berms much better. Other than a full tyre fail after eight rides I would have given 5 chili's.

After just eight rides the snakeskin sidewall tore!! It felt like the tyre was rolling over on my last ride,,i inspected on the trail,,, tyre pressure was still solid and rear hub was tight so thought I was loosing my mind. When I got home decided to do a run in front of my house on pavement and rear had a big wabble. Checked the tyre again and found an ever growing 4" hernia where the bead and rim meat. The bead was still solid but the sidewall failed. Not Happy!!

Don't know if this was a bad fluke but if the tyre was durable I would run these as my no1 tyre. I have put the front Barzo on the rear and now a 2.35 Ikon on the front. I will see if the Barzo fails again on the rear.

I used this tyre for the first time in a 3 day MTB event that took us across rocky climbs, shale loose descents, jeep track, hard single-track, a bit of mud and district dirt road. I can honestly say that this is one of the best tyre's I have used in 10 years of MTB. I previously used the Saguaro TNT, the Barzo is lighter and has the same traction and puncture resistance.

May not last as long as the Saguaro TNT because of tread pattern.

I rate this an awesome tyre.
