Specialized Fast Trak Pro D2 2Bliss Tire

DESCRIPTION

The exceptionally light Fast Trak 2.0+ has low rolling resistance, and large volume chracteristics combined to make this the fastest cross country tire on earth. Its tightly-spaced center tread with ramped edges guarantee speed, while wellspaced shoulder knobs and the large cornering footprint guarantee traction.

Strength:

reasonable price for a rear tire
easy to set up tubless/draw a bead with just a floor pump
roll well

Weakness:

only lasted me two rides (on hardpack nonetheless) before splitting between the transition knobs and the center knobs.

Heard good things about this tire from my shop & friends, but it only lasted me two rides before splitting down the middle. May have been a defect or something unseen on the trail, but sheesh. Not very durable. So long $40.

Ran this as a rear tire, tubeless @ about 35 PSI.

Strength:

1) Easy to mount, airs up with floor pump
2) has NEVER leaked or flatted
3) Rolls faster than you'd think with such an aggressive tread
4) Rails corners / amazing grip on loose & sandy singletrack

Weakness:

1) Slightly heavy (??), but doesn't ride like it
2) Not a tire for muddy conditions (but not a problem where I live in the Southwest)

Terrific UST tires, can't believe how well they roll with such an aggressive tread. They rail corners in loose and sandy conditions (desert singletrack) than my Nevegals would wash out on. Fast. I've been a tubeless convert for 3 months and I won't be going back to tubes.
THM: Amazing UST tire, incredible price. I'd buy more if my shop had any left in stock...
