Maxxis Mobster Tire

DESCRIPTION

Strength:

Long lasting Super Tacky 26x2.5 rear tire

Weakness:

Very Little or none.

I've used this rear tire on my DH bike for about 3 years and is now showing wear and tear. One time a rock tried to penetrate into the middle tire tread but didn't go thru to the innertube. It has lasted for the cost when I got it. With the wear and tear as of now, the sidewalls are starting to show evidence of cracking so this spring for 2013, will be replacing rear tire and innertube with a wetscream. I do a lot of riding.

Strength:

Definitely long lasting. Last foreeever. No flats whatsoever, even running low PSI the only thing that made it pop was 3ft drop to river rocks.

Weakness:

For 2.7 front, doesn't really hook up with trail as well as others. I've washed out a few times, and that was running low also.

They are off road tires. They are not the best, but they work. The front doesn't really hook up well, and the back slips some times when climbing. I've heard they are good for wet rocks/roots, but I ride DH in brushy desert with a fair amount of loose rocks. Very durable, but I wouldn't use for those ^ conditions.

Strength:

grips well,rolls kind of fast,grippy

Weakness:

I've used both the 60duro and the 42duro and the 60duro doesn't grip to well in wet conditions, and the 42duro wears out a little fast.

These tires are good.I like the super tacky model in the summer on the front, which is what i'm running right now.It stays put to the trail and never folds over, even at 21 PSI.They float over rocks and stay put in dusty stuff, never let go at Northstar. The 60duro,which I use in winter, rolls faster, but doesn't provide much grip in summer. Also I hate the orange stripe around the tire.It looks dumb if you're trying to keep your bike stelth(like I am)They work well as XC and freeride tires, but they're not to good on DH.If you ride XC or freeride, get the 60duro,but if you're a serious DH rider, get the super tacky 42duro.

Strength:

good traction, lightweight

Weakness:

pinch flats

I ran the 2.1 on the back for 3 months. Overall the tire provided good traction and low rolling resistance. The very big downside was too many pinch flats. I'm 175 pounds and nomally ride technical rocky trails...as a result I was forced to run 45-47 pounds however this didn't stop the pinch. This was very disappointing and would cause me not to purchase this tire again.

Strength:

This is for the 2.7 Mobster
Large footprint, strong sidewall, excellent grip

Weakness:

rolling resistance

Excellent downhill tyre - hooks up really well, very few flats. I run them between 18 & 30 psi. Very predictable in corners. Wear is ok but I wouldn't recommend for using on pavement heaps. The 2.7 just fitted on my Stuff - had to change to a 2.5 on the rear because it didn't clear the front derailleur properly. I ended up putting a Minion on the back - good combination.

strong side wall. no flats so far. no harsh rebound on small bumps.

Weakness:

no weaknesses yet.

Great all around tires. Make sure you put the sticky on the front. Great cornering you can lay these things down with confidence. Great burning edge. Mostly used on loose rock and hard pack conditions some wet and looose. Performed on every condition. Bottom line buy it ride it and point it down.

Strength:

low downhill rolling resistance

Weakness:

thin material makeup, prone to flats, prone to de-riming, and wears too quickly

tires don't hook up on climbs; compound too soft. not a good tire for cross country riders who ride on other than manicured trails. tire life was about 2.5 months of riding 60 miles a week.

Weakness:
