Strength:

This review is about X King ProTection Black Chili but it is renamed to Cross King ProTection ( same pattern and properties). 2.4 inch wide type. Great wheight/performance ratio. This is designed for XC Marathon which contains several asphalt. Perfect for mixed roads: trails, small rock, dozer, asphalt, like in EU, (not for Downhill!!!) Compared to WTB trail boss TC this has better rolling and gripping - and lighter. Black Chili works, abbrasion resistance better than Schwable but not indestructible. I experineced some tering off but only after 1000km which is great imo. 127 TPI is the reason why I use this: light still the most durable. Wild berries resistant. Never seen a while this high TPI (some brand started again in 2019). ONLY TUBELESS 2.4 version is great, if you use it with tube everithing goes wrong. Dried out sealant coming off easily from the inside - if sealant replacement necessary.

Weakness:

Works only with continental sealant. I tried others but not worked, only conti. Watch out which version you buy, only the most expensive is good - I think (and 2.4 widht). Naming is not logical and can be confusing: This type is the same as I mentioned but still there are a lot fo "King" and "Cross" at Continental. 2.4 wide version is not existing anymore. Climbing up on limestone is hard bc it is slippery on it a little. ONLY TUBELESS version is good, if you use it with tube everithing goes wrong.
