Strength:

Tight zip (will not unzip by accident), side velcro closure for best fit
quite comfortable (doesn't itch at all) when worn without liner, comfy waist (no label whatsoever)
good ventilation compared to Moto shorts
audio interface, there's a hole for routing earphone cable from inside the pocket so you can use yer mp3 player without cables hanging
tough material

Weakness:

Need more color options

Mine is the 2011 model
First of all, I agree these shorts are quite pricey, but this was the first comfy DH short I tried, comfortable (but a little hot) even for casual wear although it might not look casual, depends on the color
the audio interface might sounds ridiculous, but it's real neat if your mp3 player can stand the sweats (and falls)
I wash mine every 4-7 rides, so far only with water (what's the point of soaking detergent into polyester?)

If you wear one short for all activity, I think you might like these

Oh, btw they also came with detachable lens wipe, clipped inside left pocket

Strength:

Really tough cordura material. The spandex on the sides is a rough version of spandex. Inner liner goes real well with lycra shorts. Nice belt rachet. Look sweet.

Weakness:

No inner liner.

Just some sweet shorts for freeridin and some medium downhill. With a pair of those gay lycra shorts underneath, these are the best. Good looking, tough, don't catch on the seat. Only problem is the zip, zip, the cordura makes. Big deal. If you can find a deal for these shorts, they are worth every penny. Tough tough pair of shorts- Fox jerseys don't function well, however these shorts are great. I usually try to steer clear of fox clothing but I'll give these all the chilis i got! 5 for value since i got them on sale.

Strength:

These are definelty great shorts. The material is wind and waterproof. I won't say rip proof, but there VERY tough. These shorts will last a long long time.`

Weakness:

no pockets, latch closure system pops open once in a while

The reason I selected these shorts is because I have a couple pairs of lycra shorts that I like, and I can simply wear these shorts over them when I'm trailriding. Also, if these shorts did have a padded liner, the shorts would outlive the liner easily. I'm giving 4 chilis for value because they should be cheaper, and 4 for overall because theres no pockets.

Strength:

Super-sturdy construction

Weakness:

No spandex liner

Great alternative to mountain shorts or traditional spandex... Very sturdy, they afford great protection and are perfect for bouldering, freeriding, tricks, and such. Unfortunately no liner (which makes them less versatile than some I've tried), and as such no five flamin' chilis!
