    Strength:

    Cheap, reliable shoes.

    Weakness:

    They're difficult to dry.

These are the first cycling shoes I've had. Before them I wore some skater shoes with flat pedals. I wasn't very convinced about wearing shining silver shoes, but then I liked them very much. They're comfortable when pedaling and walking. The spikes that came with them were useful, but they wore fast, because I used to walk in rocky terrain, so I replaced them with a pair of screws. But then, I felt more confident and stopped walking. They're 3 years old and look like new. The Velcro is good after many rains. Definitely, Exustar made a quality product and the price is unbeatable. And the reflective 3M accents are useful at night.

None, these are the first and only SPD-type shoes I've ever used.

    Strength:

Attractive shoe, fits well, comfortable, stiff sole

    Weakness:

Tread is a little bit too big (about 2mm too large...see below)

This is a nice shoe, and comes for a great price! The only problem is that the treads are too big, causing the cleat to be recessed too deep (ie: the treads are not flush with the bottom of the cleat). This causes problems clipping in because the treads contact the pedal surface (SPD 520) before the cleat can seat itself properly.

This is NOT a big issue because I think the treads are soft and will wear in quickly; I was impatient, took a dremel and sanded down the treads in the area of the pedal (took 5 min) and they work perfectly! Don't let this detract you from buying these, because for this price it's hard to get anything else. 4 flamers due to treads being too big from the start.

    Strength:

Cost, Fibreglass sole, Traction when walking

    Weakness:

The tread is a bit much and can make clicking in a challenge if you don't like centered cleats.

At this price point, you're not going to do any better. The sole is very stiff, and it's a nice looking shoe.
