DESCRIPTION

Race Face Next SL G4 cranks combine CINCH versatility and compatibility with an improved arm profile that integrates with Next Direct Mount composite spiders and rings. G4 drops some of the weight while improving on stiffness. Stiffness is the key advantage here because 1x systems tend to put chains under high tension at extreme angles. Beyond being light and stiff, CINCH compatibility also adds a bit of futureproofing.

Strength:

Very light weight

Weakness:

The pedal inserts on these break loose too easily. They feel great when pedaling but too much force on the pedal or a rock strike might be the one that causes the pedal insert to break off from the crank arm. Also when making a claim against the warranty, RaceFace will not talk to you directly. You have to go through the vendor you purchased them from, which is a hassle.

Strength:

Very light, different ring sizes available

Weakness:

Failing after just under a year.

Another one with a loose pedal insert after just under a year. I weigh just under 150 and these were on a 110mm travel frame. Will see how warranty gets resolved but obviously disappointing.
