Strength:

Look great, durable, long lasting, IT WORKS!

Weakness:

Mine wasn't exactly "round"

Cheaper than fancy aluminum ones and will prob last the lifetime of my ride.

Last night, I installed the 104bcd 35 tooth variant of this ring on my single speed along with a new freewheel and chain. I rode to a park by my house this afternoon to ride some trails. Right as I got there, I was on my way up a big climb and I was really mashing. In the middle of the hill, I managed to bend an arc between two bolts into a crimped point with the teeth facing outward. The bolts were torqued appropriately to about 75 inch pounds, and stayed in place. My chain was an appropriately tight 8 speed, and my 16 tooth freewheel was a brand new white ind.

Looking on the internet, i can see that I am not the only person who has had this problem, and I will be writing qbp/surly a letter tomorrow looking for a refund.

Aluminum is a far better chainring material.
