Strength:

apparently the least expensive 12-speed chain available now (early 2018)

Weakness:

links crack

This SRAM GX Eagle chain came installed on my 2018 Trek Farley EX 9.8.
It broke after less than 4 months of usage, riding 2-3 times per week. When I inspected the chain, I found than there were cracks in the side plates of NINE links, in addition to the two that broke and left the chain dragging.
I'm not a super strong or heavy rider (160 lb), but I like riding in rough New England trails, and I've been out in somewhat cold temperatures lately, a bit under 10 F (-13 C).
I don't recall seeing this kind of damage on any of my chains before.
The side plates are marked in three ways: SRAM, EAGLE, and 037.
I haven't seen other reports on this chain - I think it's fairly new.
Since it's inexpensive, I'll give it a second chili for value - it was fun while it lasted, but I'm sure glad I wasn't way out on a frozen trail when it broke.
