Strength:

~ 166g light, at 138mm width(yellow dot)
~ Wide nose ideal, for steep climbing comfort
~ Lengthy center cutout, relieves your junk
~ Side wings freely flex
~ Tougher scuff-proof material, all around
~ Smooth round tail easy to get behind
~ Bontrager's try-before-you-buy program

Weakness:

~ Taiwan made, at Italian pricing
~ Specialized Phenom Pro copycat
~ Incompatible with one-bolt, side-eared seatpost clamps(unless 7x10mm)

The new Bontrager Montrose Pro comes-in with denser EVA padding, somewhere between the stellar, Evoke RXL carbon(soft) and Bontrager Kovee Elite(firmest). However, Bontrager compensated for this by making the side wings flex inward, while pedaling. This combined with a generous center relief cutout, results in amazing, all-day epic ride comfort.

For in-saddle climbers, the widened nose of the Montrose truly does offer something substantial to perch yourself on, when the grade gets technical and points sharper upward. Initially, this saddle feels like you're sitting on a sculpted piece of wood. With more time, you will begin to appreciate the flexing sides and suddenly you will no longer realize it's even there.
