Strength:

Great price and fantastic anatomical fit.

Weakness:

A little heavy for a flat bar

I have the Pro Moto flat bar with a 11 degree bend. If you place your hands out in front as if you are holding a handlebar. You will notice that the imagainary handlebar does not form a straight line. So why do companies make handlebars with such mild backsweeps 3-5 degrees. The 11 degree backsweep fits your hands perfect. It is not super light 180 grams but it is not that expensive and the extra comfort will do wonders.

why are there reviews for a bloody stem on the handlebar page? mtbr, are'nt you people paying attention to what you're doing?

are you all drunk?

this is just like the photo of old center pull xt cantilevers on the xt vee reviews!!!

anyway, these bars are ok. they do what handlebars are supposed to do, that is, give you a place to put your hands and controls and to not break. i'm sure that a rider in need of a weapon for a gang fight could use a set of these bars as an effective weapon--they're heavy and i guess that means durable.

these bars have no vibration damping qualities whatsoever. i'd heartily suggest using big, thick grips with them, similar to the ones made by oury--unless you are a knuckle dragging glutton for punishment.

i got these bars for free and installed them on my "B" bike. ("B" for "backup") i would never, ever use these things on my "A" bike unless i-- a) got really into freeriding/downhill and was running an umpteen inch travel fork or-- b) what? i run a monkey light on my superlight and always will until a compelling reason forces me to use something else.

if you're looking for a burly bar to use on your bike when you've been drinking heavily and become lost, the salsa moto ace bar is the one.

i don't know anything about salsa's stems, though, except that they have some sort of funky bolts.

I love this stem. I blaze through the tight single tracks with a stupid smile on my face and tears streaming from my eyes as my knees stream blood down my shins. Did I mention that I'm dreaming of a raceface or the new Easton EA60 stem. Yep. Ouch!

None so far.

Take it from someone who crashes a lot more than he should, this is one reliable stem. I have never had replace it or even worry about it. When I mentioned I may have to get a longer stem, several of my buddies I ride with offered to buy it from me. It looks great and works fantastic. What more could you want. PS - 200+ lb beginning rider, it can take a beating, trust me.....
