Strength:

This is one of the more affordable Shimano rotors. It generally comes stock with centerlock hub equipped bikes.

Weakness:

It gets easily warped and fades quickly on long descents. Only compatible with resin pads.

These came stock on my first 29er. I soon learned to alternate my braking pattern, especially on descents, as these hot up pretty quick. That is to say these rotors take some time to cool down. Because of that they get warped easily, especially if one uses them aggressively.
If you are into new rotor(s) purchase and are on a budget, you are better off with generic rotors. These are only really recommended for commuting or light xc at the most.

Similar Products Used:

From Acera to XTR, I have used a handful of Shimano rotors. Compared to other brands, Shimano are way overpriced and over-engineered.
