Strength:

this bike was amazing bang for the buck. I saw none of the previously mentioned quality issues and the clear coat over the raw frame is really cool. Sure you see some imperfections but that is the point. The XT build is spot on and worked flawless, the fox 34 was stiff and easy to adjust. The 275+ wheels set was a game changer! I updated to 275 X 3.0 tires and I changed out the seat (person preference) but in 2 years that was the only changed to the stock build.

Weakness:

The small frame only had one water bottle holder which was a bummer but I understand the design constraint. The NAILed rear axle is difficult to adjust but once adjusted it worked well.

Strength:

Nimble. Decent components.

Weakness:

Overall quality of the manufacture of the frame. Head badge came off after a few months and had to glue it back on. One of bolt holes for the bottle cage holder's threads were boogered. The frame is rusting underneath the clear coat in several areas. Marin has no business manufacturing steel frames if they are to be produced of this poor quality. They are refusing to stand behind their product and make things right. I will never purchase anything from Marin again, nor will I recommend them to anyone. Buyer beware!!

Really disappointed with the quality of the frame. I have years of metal coating experience and Marin's attention to detail is non existent in my opinion.
