Strength:

Excellent value. SRAM GX 1x11 drivetrain is precise and reliable. Lightweight for an aluminum fat bike. Powerful brakes with great modulation. Growler custom setup is an amazing service at this price range. Internal cable routing, carbon bars and seat post.

Weakness:

Seat post clamp sucks. Magura hydraulic brakes tend to be more difficult to service.

Growler bikes are custom built. Mine was the 2017 model setup with a Mannitou Mastodon fork and 45Nrth Dunderbeist/Flowbeist tires. Tips the scales at 33 lbs, which is excellent for an aluminum fatty... especially considering the fork alone is 4.5 lbs. The service from Growler was excellent. Bike only needed minor adjustments out of the box.

Due to the late snow in my home state of Utah this year, I've been able to ride this bike in a variety of conditions including smooth/dry single-track, rocky downhill, sand, hard pack snow, and loose un-groomed snow. It handles all conditions like a champ. The tires and fork inspire so much confidence and just eat up rocks/roots and other trail obstacles. Unless you are an aggressive downhill rider, this bike has year-round potential.

I researched many bikes. I was looking for a bike with high quality components that could be easily setup to ride year round in the $1500-2000 price range. This one fits the bill, and with Growlers custom service I was able to get exactly what I wanted... right down to the paint colors and chainring size.
