Frame looks good, however the Fox Float CTD rear shock (ID CCHW, Boost Valve Tune 175, Rebound Tune L, and Velocity Tune M) installed by Intense Cycles on new Intense Tracer 2 frame 2013 suffered catastrophic failure on first ride. Rear shock blew apart at canister threads. Fox replaced the shock claiming Intense installed the wrong shock. The second shock suffered the same failure within minutes. WTF? Intense has not returned any emails or calls. Is anyone else having this issue?

Weakness:

Rear shock blew apart at canister threads. Fox replaced the shock claiming Intense installed the wrong shock. The second shock suffered the same failure. Rear shock performance prior to catastrophic failure was great as expected. Threads appear to be stripped. Shock was not modified by user. Any thoughts?

No customer service. Plenty of other nice frames on the market, find something else. I really wanted to like my new Intense.

Strong frame for 160mm Travel . Great design ( great looking bike )!!! Excellent handling - confident on cornering and switchback!!
vpp is an outstanding suspension design !!

Weakness:

Little bite heavy. Some welding spot and paint area is unacceptable . And some bolt need to be tight more. When I got the frame, one of the deraileur hanger bolt was kind of loose.
Made in USA ???!!! Hope they have a better quality control !!!

I used to have Intense 5.5 and love how its handling .
Now 2012 Tracer 2 is even better! Thanks VPP suspension design.

over all it s a great bike . it s one of favorite bikes.

Strength:

super stiff under my 200# weight. The bike steers predictably and tracks super well. The angles seem spot on. This bike is dialed. Also love the rear thru axle, which goes a long way to help with the overall stiffness of the bike. The rear dropouts can be changed out to accomodate standard qr rears, too. Pedals great and descending is buttery smooth. The bike is really stable. It rocks on drops, steeps, and even steep climbing. It's not the fastest racerboy climber out there, but it climbs like a goat on technical terrain.

Weakness:

Not the lightest frame, but the whole bike still comes in just over 30# well built with X9, Formula, and a RS Revelation.

Honestly? I think I've found the perfect bike. I've been on this thing for about a year now and it completely rocks. I've ridden some high end bikes for quite a while, but the Tracer 2 has put my riding into another category. You'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands!

If you're looking for one, make sure to get hold of Redstone. No fancy online ordering website, but they rock and will generally hook you up!

Flats, Downs and Comfortable. Super Stiff

Weakness:

Uphill!

I bought this bike because I could get it cheaper than the Santa Cruz Nomad. This bike is great fun. I have not been able to win any races uphill but I am generally first down. The bike will soak up whatever I have thrown at it. I weigh 215 lbs. I bought this bike as a complete bike. I am very impressed with the stiffness of the frame, quickness in turns and suspension set up. I normally ride with the bike in the 5.5" mode being in Central Savannah River Area. Currently I have around 250 miles on the bike without any issues. My only regret is getting the 3 x 10 setup instead of the 2 x 10.

This bike is for fun and epic rides not for racers.

Strength:

With a head angle of 68' you get the confidence to really open the bike up on decents, with the upgraded beefier rear triangle it holds solid lines through corners , climbs very well. Awesome through rocky sections.
Due to the seat tube being upgraded slightly angled bend towards the rear the cockpit feels very comfortable and roomy.
Next upgrade would be a new wheel-set with the 142mm rear axle, which will compliment the bike and really get everything you can from this amazing rig.

Weakness:

Rear Shock bolt tends to loosen, replaced the bolt due to a slight bend easily solved/fixed though. Intense staff are very helpful.

The Best Trail bike to date so far.
Fast and Flowy.
Intense all the way:)

Strength:

I wanted the next generation of total trail dominance and I think I have it with T2. Only 2 mo/300 Mi in and still trying to hit edge of performance with this rig. Every time I think I have its does one better. Super stiff tortional throughout esp with RS Lyric 20MM thru axle with king hub on front end and beefy reinforce rear. Keeps a tight line in switchbacks w no turn radius penalties. Pure point and shoot bike that will bail you out of all kinds of poor decisions in the rough and at speed.

Weakness:

Thought steering was too squirrely but cured that with longer (100mm) stem. Chain clearance at BB tight which creates xs noise and wear on rough descents. Little hefty at 31 lbs with Lyric and XT group

Running in 6.2 travel mode makes this bike the awesome enduro hammer. Climbs well little bob even out of saddle, rules the tech downhills esp now that I am used to settling weight into center and digging hard into corners. Most secure feeling ride yet when in big rough or landing.

This is one of those bikes that assures you that the bike will not be the limiting factor in your ability to challenge the best trails around.

The guys at Intense are providing great tech support and service
