Strength:

Very comfortable , takes all the weight of your shoulders. No sweat on your back, lots of handy pockets, in short- custom made for the needs of riders . While relatively large, you don't feel it at all.

Weakness:

Expensive, especialy as you have to buy the water bag seperately.I didnt buy the Ergon water bag, got a Deuter for $15 instead.Fits fine.

If you can afford- best of it's kind.Hunt for a good bargin as the initial Recommended price is high but deals can be found.

Strength:

Amazing system. Fits great. Stays out of your mind while on the trail. Perfect for all weather century rides that take all day. Rain Fly works awesome.

Weakness:

no pockets on the hip supports. I found myself attaching camera case type pockets at the hip belt for on-the-fly access.

This pack took me past 11 hours of self supported Trans Iowa hell. By the time Checkpoint 1 came around, it wasn't the BD1 that made me pull the plug.

This pack will be on my back for Trans Iowa again in 2009. Nuff Said.

Strength:

Very comfortable. Nice wide straps. Almost forget that you are wearing it.

Weakness:

Hydration bladder not included.

It's a good overall pack however, it doesn't have the seperate compartments like Camelbaks have. There is not a seperate, padded compartment for a bladder which means that it could get punctured by what you store in your pack. Not easy to keep stored items organized. I still have my Camelbaks so look for my Ergon pack on eBay soon!

Strength:

Suspension design, adjustable - can be custom fit for individual body size, overall quality, details, unique look/design.

Weakness:

Doesn't come with a hydration bladder.

Amazing suspension that moves with your body, keeps the pack off your back and makes big loads disappear. Tons of pockets that make it easy to organize your stuff.

It's larger size makes you think it might be too unwieldy for mt. biking, but once you give it a spin, it's incredible how effortless it is to carry epic-size loads. I've used it for all day rides and still can't believe how effortlessly the Ergon allows you to carry a heavy load.
