Strength:

Have used the TSL-2500 (handle bar) in combination with the Serfas True1000 (helmet) for 4 years (1200+ hours) and when it is working it is simply 'The Best' single track mtn biking lighting system I have experienced. I ride year round in the Canadian Rockies and they have worked in all temperature extremes. However, these lights need TLC to last!

Weakness:

As other reviewers have said, the light switches are delicate and fail easily - do not press them hard! Especially in -20C temps with gloves on. Turn on the lights before you start your ride with no gloves on and do not try to adjust them with gloves. The battery connector cables have not failed for me so far. Connect them with care. The handle bar mount rubber strap is not good quality...the clamp ring rips out of the rubber very easily and replacements are expensive. Try to minimise the stretch when clamping onto the handle bar. Serfas! definitely opportunities for improvement.

Strength:

great bright light, lightweight as well.

Weakness:

reliability. I have a faulty battery connector on the head, only 12 or so rides (easy, no damage or accidents - the unit looks brand new). can't use the unit, it's my second unit with faulty battery connection.

Strength:

great bright light

Weakness:

price and battery failures

ive had this light for just over a year and under 60 charge cycles , when it works its great but this is not all the time . sometimes the battery wont work unless you quickly plug it back into the charger ( almost like a kick start to get it going ) then the other day this didnt work so needed to spend $140 on a new battery which seems to have the same issue

Strength:

very bright. excellent on the trail visibility. long battery life.

Weakness:

fragile. switch is defective.

i have been through two of these. the first broke after two easy rides. the light was excellent when it worked but half way through the second use it started to switch on and off on its own then just quit. not much fun ripping single track and all of a sudden pitch black. got home and found that the top switch wasn't working and the remote switch was useless. took it back to the bike store and they knew exactly way i brought it back, wasn't the first one they had to replace. they exchanged it for another and the same thing happened after three rides. it's going back as well. when the light works it is beyond excellent but when you're riding in the pitch dark you need a light to be bomb proof. i can't recommend it given the faulty switch.

Strength:

brightest light around, remote switch, usb charge outlet, easy to mount, easy to charge

Weakness:

Price is high, but you get a lot of lumens for the price
Battery life is short when the light is on the highest setting

I ride single track at night at least once a week and this headlight is hands down the best. I ride with a group of riders and they all envy the amount of light that projects from this headlight. Battery life is good and USB charging port on the battery is an added bonus. I recommend this light, especially for off road single track where a clear view of the trail is essential.
